How much does a padel lesson cost?
A private lesson usually costs €40 to €85 per hour, a group lesson €10 to €25 per person. The difference is mostly in what the price includes: the court, the racket and the balls. With examples from real venues and a source for every amount.
- Private lesson: €40 to €70 per hour with a trainer, up to €85 with court and equipment included.
- Group lesson: €10 to €25 per person per lesson.
- Court rental: €20 to €44 per hour, per court, if not included in the lesson.
- A trial lesson or clinic: €10 to €20, sometimes free.
What you pay per type of lesson
| Type of lesson | What you roughly pay | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Private lesson (1 person) | €40 – €70 per hour | Allespadel; Padelkenner |
| Group lesson | €10 – €25 per person | Padelkenner; Allespadel |
| Intro lesson or clinic | €10 – €20 per person, with racket and balls | Allespadel |
Examples from real venues
At these venues VAT, the court and equipment are already in the price:
| Venue | Private | Two people | Four people |
|---|---|---|---|
| Padel Zwolle | €61 per hour | €33 p.p. | €20 p.p. |
| Padelhal Joure | €85 per hour | – | €105 per hour (group of 3 or 4) |
With a pack of ten lessons Padel Zwolle charges €59 per private lesson. A lesson with four people costs each person roughly a third of a private lesson.
Is the court included?
That is the biggest difference between providers. A venue often includes the court; an independent trainer sometimes doesn’t (Padelkenner). If you rent the court yourself, Allespadel says you pay per court, not per person:
| Time | Court rental per hour |
|---|---|
| Off-peak (weekdays during the day) | €20 – €28 |
| Peak (evenings and weekends) | €28 – €44 |
So always ask: is the court included, and the rackets and balls?
Which VAT applies?
That depends on who provides the court. If the trainer or venue provides the court with the lesson, the low 9% rate can apply. If you already rented the court yourself or have access through a membership, the trainer charges 21%. That is how it works for tennis lessons (Centre Court), and the Belastingdienst rule is the same for every sport. As a private client the VAT is already in the price. Trainers can read more in VAT for personal trainers and sports instructors.
How to pay less
- Take lessons with two or four people. You share the trainer and the court.
- Choose off-peak hours. A court on a weekday during the day is cheaper than in the evening.
- Buy a pack. Many venues give a discount for ten lessons.
- Start with a clinic or trial lesson before you buy a pack.
