Why Gymies launches city by city (and why that's better for you)

Why not everywhere at once?

A booking platform only works if you can actually find a trainer. An app that opens in a hundred cities at once but has nobody in your city does not help you.

That is why Gymies opens city by city. First enough trainers sign up and complete their profile. Only then does the city open for clients. We start in Amsterdam.

How a city opens

A city opens in four steps:

• Trainers sign up: They create a profile with rate, location, availability and invoice details
• Gymies checks: the business registration (KvK) and the ID document; then the profile gets the "Verified" label
• The first 10 are founding trainers: They build the offer in their city before clients can book
• The city opens: Everyone who signed up for that city gets an email

Until then you can already book with a trainer whose trainer code you have.

What Gymies checks (and what it does not)

You want to know who you train with. That is why a trainer profile only goes live after Gymies has checked the basics.

Gymies does not check other diplomas or certificates; a trainer can add them to their profile. Only for pregnancy and postpartum, pelvic floor and menopause can a trainer have a diploma checked. Not sure? Just ask your trainer.
