How the calculator works

  • Sessions per month = sessions per week × working weeks ÷ 12.
  • VAT is taken out of your rate: at 21% that is 21/121 of your turnover, at 9% it is 9/109. Which rate applies to you?
  • The Gymies plan and service fees come straight from Gymies. With the KOR the plan counts including VAT, because you cannot reclaim that VAT.
  • What you keep is before income tax.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it calculate with 46 working weeks?

As a self-employed trainer you are not paid during holidays, public holidays or illness. 46 weeks is a cautious assumption; you can change it yourself.

Is my rate including or excluding VAT?

For private clients you quote a price including VAT. The calculator therefore takes the VAT out, unless you use the KOR.

Why does the plan cost more with the KOR?

With the KOR you charge no VAT, but you also cannot reclaim VAT. The plan then costs you the amount including VAT.

Is this what I earn net?

No, it is what you keep before income tax. There are deductions for entrepreneurs; ask an accountant or check with the Belastingdienst.
